William and Mary Tribe baseball is William and Mary University’s baseball team. The William and Mary Tribe is one of the top athletic teams.

About W&M

The college of William and Mary is a Public Ivy research university located in Williamsburg, Virginia. It was founded in 1693 by King William III and Queen Mary II.

Some of its alumni who later on grew up to become American presidents are Thomas Jefferson, John Tyler, and James Monroe. It is also known as “the Alma Mater of the Nation.”

The college has a huge campus of about 1200 acres and was awarded the most beautiful college campus in the US by Travel+Leisure in 2011. The William and Mary Tribe is the name of the College of William & Mary’s sports team. The tribe has won 2 national championships, the AIAW championship, the NAIA championship, and 13 Gymnastics Collegiate Championships.

William and Mary is the second oldest university in the US. The college’s athletic programs were established in 1893 and, since then, have had many changes in the names till finally deciding on the Tribe in 1978.

The logo of the tribe is W, symbol &, and M written in green, with a golden border.

William and Mary Baseball

The William & Mary Tribe baseball represents the baseball team of William Mary College. The team represents its university in the NCAA Division I. The baseball team was established in 1895. It competes in the Colonial Athletic Association.

The team’s head coach is Mike McRae.The tribe has competed in 4 NCAA tournaments- 1983, 2001, 2013, and 2016. The tribe has played 7 times in Conference Championships– 1906, 111, 1914, 1915, 1983, 2001, and 2016, and competed twice in CAA championships- 2001 and 2016.

The tribe has an all-time record of 1,629-1,797-12(.474) and has played over 119 seasons till now. The tribe has had a total of 38 MLB draft selections since 1965.

William & Mary Baseball Stadium/Field

Earlier, the team played their matches on an on-campus field next to Zable Stadium. The tribe currently plays in an off-campus stadium Plumeri Park, which was opened on March 20, 1999.

The stadium’s name is kept after Joseph J Plumeri II, an alumnus of William Mary. It was constructed in 1996.

The stadium has a seating capacity of 1000, with facilities like a grandstand, locker rooms, state-of-the-art scoreboard, 10-foot artificial turf halo.

William & Mary Baseball Camp

The college organizes baseball camps for ages 6-15 at Plumeri Park. The camps help youth to develop their basics and skills and provide a platform to showcase their talent through healthy competition.

The camps have various programs for every age group, like youth instructional camps and high school prospect camps. The cost of these camps is approximately $450 per week.
